Hello,
My name is Patrick O’Rourke; I’m a third year journalism student at Ryerson University in Toronto Ontario. I’m working on in depth story centered on the idea of maker culture and the Nintendo Ds homebrew community. Basically maker culture is a rejection of mainstream consumer ideas. Those involved in the movement take objects, often electronics and rework them to fit your own individual needs making them more personal.
Are there any home brew devs out there interested in talking to me about this concept and the Nintendo DS homebrew community in general. I'm having difficulty finding contacts and anything will be a big help.
I’m focusing on the Nintendo DS and the interesting and huge homebrew community that has evolved through the use of flashcards. The article is going to be published in the www.Tyee.ca, a Vancouver based online publication and on www.Rabble.ca a growing Canadian online publication. Hope someone can give me a hand.
Thanks,
