Yup. It's pretty shut down my university entirely - classes are cancelled, the gyms are locked up, the dining halls are closed, etc. So that's fun.

For anyone wondering about the difference between Sandy and Hurricane Irene last year...

It knocked out my Internet in Brooklyn and tore some of the aluminum off my neighbors house but I'm fine compared to my friends in manhattan who don't have power and my grandparents in rockaway who live right next to the beach and decided not to leave. The flood waters there have reached the 6th step in their house last I heard :|.

Thanks, I appreciate it, but I'm comparatively lucky. I still have power, no worries about flooding, or anything like that. From what I understand, New Jersey and New York are just getting hammered the most right now

Virginia Beach here, the hurricane went above us so all we got was a 3-day rainstorm.

Well, lots of wind too, but not enough to hurt anything here.

I live in Toronto and we're getting pretty bad winds. Somebody has already died from a sign getting pulled down and hitting them. Quite a few people have no power.

It was alot worse then last years, dont have any power right now, huge tree in my backyard fell
lucky it missed my pool and screen house and landed on top of the garden and crushed the fence, I'll try and post pics later
other then that, minor damage, I live really high above water level so dont have to worry about flooding

We're getting hit with lots of rain and wind from the hurricane. I heard it was snowing north of where I live.

Currently in DC, Crystal City specifically. Pretty much unscathed, rain and wind, and they shut the federal govt and metro down for the last two days, so which means I got to stay in my hotel and play games. Had power flickers, never actually went out.

The storm hit Toronto but it wasn't as bad as some of the other cities, thank goodness. Just some minor street-car delays and power outages in some parts of the city.

Still no power here, lost cell phone service almost 2 days ago, very limited now at 1x, could take another 5 days to get power back

My college pretty much cancelled the whole week
