i am using uTorrent to download torrents .
i am wondering if there's a way to stop a torrent once it has finished leeching. is there some sort of setting so that i don't have to seed?

this is just the case for public torrents, if it was for a private torrent site, i wouldn't mind seeding .

Solution
Once a torrent has finished downloading entirely, you can press Stop to halt all transmission. You can also limit uploading while running by right-clicking the torrent, Bandwidth Allocation, and Set Upload Limit.

After downloading, you can just remove the torrent from the list.
its, right click -> remove -> remove torrent. (dont choose remove torrent+data.)
that way, you wouldn't interrupt other torrent's connections.

Also, as Protokun said, you can limit the upload bandwith to 0kb/s.

Yes, you can either reduce or stop a torrent after the download is finished by the methods listed here. However, it is considered proper to continue seeding after your download is complete. After all, if no one seeds there would be nothing to download.
