I still have a DSi XL which I bought last year but never knew it had a water damage as shown by the stickers that show that liquid had been spilt on it.

The main issue I'm having with it is that at best, playing a game only lasts an hour with a battery before it starts to drain badly and gives me the low battery warning.

I am curious to know if buying this to repair the fuse will fix this problem or if it's something that's far gone to even bother.

I can't see what you're linking to, for some reason.

If it would have been a fuse problem you would probably have problems with charging or turning on the unit.

Have you tried to clean up the board with a soft toothbrush and some isopropanol?

I did manage to wipe over the parts where I noticed the battery corrosion with some isopropanol alcohol and after throwing in a battery from my working DSI XL, it seems to be okay. Fingers crossed it stays that way but now I have a second problem with this DSI XL. The microphone never works during the mic test. I double checked the port next to the headphone socket and there's nothing unusual in there. I even grabbed the microphone wire from the working DSI XL and transfered it over and it still refuses to do anything during the mic test. Is there something I'm missing in getting the mic to work again or should I just cut my losses and just sell it as a faulty unit?

Do you have a warranty on that other DSI? Swap the stickers and tell Nintendo "Hey someone threw my DSI into my pool, repair place couldn't fully fix it, fix please kthx". Devious but it would work!
