Hey guys, I now have a bit more free time to do whatever I want, so I'm trying to get back into gaming. Last time I posted here, I was having problems palying Bulletstorm. I ended up throwing the disc away because I figured it was a bad burn. Burned it again, and still couldn't play it.

Then I downloaded Portal 2. I also updated to the latest dash (I think). At first, it didn't work, but I tried the activate.iso method and it worked perfectly. I was able to play through the whole game without a problem. I figured that the activate.iso method would work for all the other wave 10-11 games, so I downloaded and burned Crysis 2, Bulletstorm (again), and XBLA Triple Pack. None of them work. I have tried burning on both OSX and Windows, I've tried patching the games to a lower game, and I've tried using the activate.iso disc and not using it. Nothing works.

When I don't use the activate.iso disc, I get a "Play DVD" prompt. When I do use it, it says "Play Game", but once I run the game, I quickly get a "Unrecognized Disc" screen that says I either need to clean the disc or restart the console. Portal 2 still works fine using activate.iso. What gives?

Also, I can't update to LT because I don't have the stuff to do it here. All that stuff is back home, and I actually don't even know where I left it, so updating is out of the question. Either way, I shouldn't have to update seeing as Portal 2 works just fine, and all the games I'm trying are the same wave as Portal 2 and are not AP2.5. Some help would be really appreciated.

Very odd. Are you making sure you're burning the .dvd, not the .iso? You probably already know that, but I'm just making sure. Are you using good quality media? How fast are you burning?
EDIT: Have you tried patching the Wave to Wave 3?

Yep, I'm burning the .dvd. I'm using Verbatims at 2.4x speed. I only tried the wave patching thing for one game (XBLA Triple Pack), I'm not sure what wave it patched it to because I got the wave file from a .zip that was included in a tutorial I read about patching waves. The file is called "v14-15.ppf"

Did you run the .iso through ABGX after patching?

No, I didn't, but I guess I could check it right now since it's still patched.

No, don't. You don't want to run it through ABGX, otherwise the game won't boot.

Hm, abgx says it's wave 11. Maybe it didn't work? Should I just try to use abgx to patch it to wave 3 and see if that works? Last time I used ppf-o-matic on Windows and I guess it didn't work.

EDIT: I downloaded a program called 360wavespatcher. I downloaded the wave 4 files and patched one of games, but even after patching, the program says it's still Wave 11...

Hmm... you have me stumped. I would try asking one of the 360 experts like FAST6191. He'll probably know what to do.
