Valve has released a beta for its new Steam Link Anywhere service, which allows for users to not only just stream their games from within their own home, but expands that to being able to remotely access their PC games from anywhere. You can use the Steam Link app (currently not allowed on iOS) on Android, another PC, or the discontinued Steam Link hardware to play your Steam games from faraway locations, so long as you have a strong and stable upload speed for your host device. Steam Link Anywhere's beta 688 build is now available to try out for any interested users.

    Your mom's basement.
Is 5MB upload speed too low? Don't know if I can enjoy this.

For game streaming, your ping will matter more in most cases. 5mbps is probably on the low end of the bandwidth needed, so you might experience some quality loss.

Wished I had symmetrical upload and download, but Comcast charges an arm, and a leg, and my soul to get gigabit speeds.

Wonder if it will be better than the physical Steam Link.
My experiences with it was average at best.

It should be noted that Comcast doesn’t even do true gigabit fiber, at least in a lot of major cities. Its just their normal service, but with faster speeds, (plus a very low upload speed, proving that it’s not fiber) and still a data cap.

I’d like to try this out for fun, using my unlimited mobile plan, just to see how laggy it would be, but Apple still annoyingly doesn’t allow the app on their store. Ah well.
