After a vague and hopeful launch window of February 2022, Valve has come through, as they have announced that the much anticipated Steam Deck will be releasing on February 25th. If you were quick enough on the draw to be part of the first set of pre-orders, your invoice will be sent out on Feb. 25, where you'll have three days to confirm your purchase. Once you've paid for and finalized your order, your Steam Deck will ship on the 28th. After that, Valve will be sending out emails on a weekly basis for those beyond the first wave of units.

Additional details for the curious:
  • We will start sending invites shortly after 10:00 am on February 25th, PST
  • Order emails are sent in the same order that reservations were made.
  • You can only order the Steam Deck model that you originally reserved.
  • Your reservation deposit will be applied to the final price of Steam Deck, and shipping costs are included.

I've given up on PC gaming, but man...I'm all in on the hype for this thing! Can't wait to get it!

Still says mine arrives "Q1 2022", wonder if I'll get it near launch?
I've ordered within the first 5 seconds, if mines not in the first batch, then I don't know.

lol it is!! but that means ALOTTT of people are not going to b able to purchase it (time,Money etc) meaning the list will move quickly

I never thought of that. Here I was thinking I might get mine nearer to April or May but maybe it'll happen sooner.

I've given up on consoles, so we're even. I am looking forward to getting mine. Most of what I've played on my Vita were indie PC ports, and even my phone can run PPSSPP at full speed, so this thing is going to be pretty good, I think.

I bought my first PSP about 15 years ago, and I've been playing on that and then a Vita almost the entire time (I got a PS3 somewhere in there too, but it doesn't get much use). Just having something portable that's actually good is going to be a game changer.

Anyway, I own Valkyria Chronicles on Steam, so I guess that's my first install. Outrun 2006 is gonna be the first cracked game I put on it. I suppose it's time to try it on my Debian laptop and see if the crack works under Wine :)
