So guys, it's going on now, what do you all think? (mostly directed at American users, but if anyone else is checking in, it's always cool to get an out-of-country opinion)

He seems to be pretty popular right now. Mostly talking about jobs, and COLLEGE! (which I'm going to) heh, so what do you guys think? Like what he says? Hate it? Please God don't let this be a flame war, just want some opinions, and some discussions.

Lol I am pretty interested to hear what he has to say tonight, but overall, I dislike what he says, AND does. *Flame Shield On!*

Talk is cheap, especially in politics. Put up or shut up.

And you are from Australia, so I figured you would reply with something like that.

    How does that feel?

Eventually I realized that American politics are so dumb that it's not worth it anymore. America is going into a shit spiral, one way or another. And it's not because of Obama, it's just because Americans suck at politics nowadays.

If I have the cash when I'm old enough, I'd leave the US. Maybe go to Canada or something.

I went to youtube and listened to most of the speech. Can't say it's a yes or no on liking it though. I do like the idea of freezing Federal spending for 3 years, but it sounds easier said than done. Lots of the speech was him speaking about the condition of the economy (which we already know about).

As many people have said: actions speak louder than words. So for now I'll hold my tongue until action happens or the lack thereof.

    I'll provide the out-of-country experience.

He comes across as ok, he's better than Bush but that's not saying much. He's an excellent speaker but he's relied a lot on rhetoric. Genrally people I spoke too genrally seem to beleive that he's was going to save the world and all that bullshit.

Recently I've got to admit he's looking better with his plans to change the banking system and his thinking on the creation of jobs, so it seems that he has some sort of plan. I do think the reaction of the US Right borders on disbelief like Palin's death panel bullshit and the whole he's acting "unamerician." Then again i guess that shows how stunted US politics is. Obama does have the potential to lead the most progressive government for a generation but wheter he does or not is really up to him.

I just don't agree with most of his actions, but then again you can't please everybody!

I think he said that because many Texans are republicans, not because he thinks you are racist.

    Canada is way better.

The laws aren't as strict on pirating as in the US and you're allowed to back up your own DVD's. Canada is miles ahead of the US (imo).

Is this the same Canada where the RIAA has bribed the government to impose a tax on CD sales because they might be used to pirate songs? Make no mistake, countries are meeting to discuss how they can lock up copyright law right now.
