Got an Idea after reading FAST6191´s reply in the portrait of ruin thread in the 3DS Section:

As I recall the game was badly coded (as in could happen on a stock DS and original game) and the slight lag that some flash carts have here made it even worse. Some flash carts later fixed it for Konami but not all got it.

Edit. Found the patch code, you will likely have to manually turn it into a patch (no xdelta download or anything on the link) but nothing too drastic.

How about you @FAST6191 or other user with coding experience dissect prominent games that were badly coded (Portrait of Ruin for example) and what you would change if you were the developer? This would be an interesting read. An gbatemp exclusive maybe?

For a while now I have tossed around the idea of hacker reviews wherein the one doing the review does the review, figures what they would change and does it. Not sure how compelling it might be as most people when contemplating "and what you would change if you were the developer?" tend to think more like those doing film recuts, music remixes or similar where I would probably look at maths and it would end up something like https://www.dragonflycave.com/mechanics/gen-i-capturing https://kotaku.com/the-mechanics-behind-satisfying-2d-jumping-1761940693 and https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iNSQIyNpVGHeak6isbP6AHdHD50gs8MNXF1GCf08efg/pub?embedded=true . Technically you could do story reworks, rewrites and such but meh.

Might even consider it for current games as well.

A mathematical approach from the dragonfly post would be overkill for a noob like.:P

I would be interested in reading something like this if it ever came to fruition.

Also, something similar: If there are any game devs here who wish to share some insights into games they've worked on in the past, I think there would be a good deal of interest in that as well. Something akin to GameHut.
Hmm I wonder if anyone who actually works in the games business is on this site lol. Especially anyone who works at rockstar north on gta online i would imagine they might have some stories.

To be honest that was one of my first thoughts, but I wasn't sure if you'd be under contractual obligations.
Yes there is a lot i couldn't talk about and would probably have to pass anything i write to the higher ups first. But no harm in asking them if i can perhaps knock up something. Especially my Steven Ogg stories of which there are many lol.

Yeah, wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble obviously. If they approve it, that would be really cool!
