I focused on the WFC simply because dogfights would be awesome. Right now the game feels like a re-heated hamburger. If you're making a remake, at least improve it... Sure 3D graphics, I dig. But does the game offer anything other than 3D depth that'll make my eyes bleed after aprox. 1 hour of gameplay? If not, then I'm sticking to my WiiWare version, because frankly, I already know the story.

I was going to get this game because I don't remember the original much, but got an N64 for a really cheap price.

I got the original for around $15. Even though the remake version is better, I rather pay $15 than pay $40.
Well if you care, the graphics are better than those of any other 3DS game announced so far and some better than that of many Wii games.

Now that I think on it, the N64 original's multiplayer was little more than an afterthought. It only had 2 maps, Corneria and Sector Z. And you could only use things other than the Arwing if you were on Corneria and had put significant effort into the single player mode to unlock the Landmaster or 'on foot'. Unless they'd made some pretty serious improvements to it and added about 8 more maps at least then we've really not lost anything.

Besides, I'm undefeated in Lylat Wars multiplayer. Seriously, in all these years I've not been shot down once.

I don't see why this matters really. I wasnt going to buy this game for wifi anyways, not even multiplayer at all for that matter.

Never played it so ofc I'm gonna get this regardless of WiFi. Sucks to you people who already played it. Same with oot it'll be new to me. Sure I could play them now on my Wii and PC but the updated graphics might be worth it.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.
I might get it though since I loved StarFox 64, and would really love to have it on the go.

Actually it doesn't. The multiplayer mode was barely ever played by anyone I know who had it, including myself.

Wow I remember trading in a bunch of my SNES games for this at Funcoland. (I think the game was like $70 or $75) After many months I think I managed to get medals on every planet and run around with the star fox characters "on foot" in multiplayer.

On small thing that I will miss in this version (which I will be purchasing) is the rumble pack. As we all remember, it was a pack-in with the original game (and I think a new gaming innovation at that time), and I loved how the thing would just go crazy after destroying a big boss.

I was on the fence about whether or not to get this game, but with this news I guess that settles it. I wont be buying it. I played the heck out of it on n64, and I bought it on wii virtual console for just a few bucks. I can't see paying full price for a game that I already bought for a few bucks.
Still a great game though.

Good job Nintendo, you just killed any hype for the game by the hardcore fans. No online play and stupid gyroscopic controls are serious killers. If you can't use the control slider as an option in 3D mode, no one is going to be interested in the game. Lack of multiplayer online is a problem and honestly local online was one of the most enjoyable things about the game and online play was going to make it have more value.

Quite disappointing. Maybe wifi was to much trouble to add in?

TBA Although this game is kinda out of my radar, I never finish the game. ;_;

So I think it would be a good buy regardless of wifi.

If you saying blazeblue isn't wifi then that one is a killer.

Starfox 64's strong point wasn't even multiplayer. I don't get why people are crying over this.

It's a shame, yeah. But you're making it sound like it's totally shit without online.

+1 to that. I've never even bothered playing the multiplayer in the original. Sure, online dogfights could be fun, but the game is awesome as is. And now it's awesome in 3D.

Not really, online 4 player could be a lot more fun and getting 4 player local is going to be impossible.

- The gyro scope controls are optional so I don't see how that's a negative.
- Well, if local mutiplayer was a blast then why not... play local multiplayer! And i'm sure playing with close friends are why it was so fun, NOT play with some random dudes. And even then, again, multiplayer wasn't even that big of a deal for Starfox 64. As someone said before it was really weak with only two maps. It wasn't in-depth... at all.

Because not everyone has friends who like StarFox, or have a 3DS.

Implying that as many people are going to buy a remake of Star Fox and play it locally as there were people playing it in the 90's. Online play would make the opportunities to play with other people much larger, but apparently Nintendo thinks 4 people are going to magically get together and play their 3DS games in the same room when they can conveniently do it over the internet.

Not that I really cared much about that remake but I remember Nintendo saying that they want to improve their online experience and that they have started taking online seriously
