Delivering on the promise made earlier this month, ConcernedApe has released a sizable content patch for Stardew Valley, adding in a wealth of new features and updates. Some of the notable new additions include clothes tailoring, fish ponds, new dialogue between spouses, new fish, decorations, and storage containers, larger land for co-op, improved controller support, and dozens upon dozens of smaller fixes and balances. You can see the full changelog, which is massive, linked below. The 1.4 update is only available for PC at the moment, but there are plans to bring it over to the console versions, soon.

    8156 words?

    You sure that's a patch?

Also, thanks ConcernedApe for telling us the exploits prior to the upcoming Switch version update, they'll certainly be useful :toot:

Some of these additions and QoL features should've been from the beginning in first place but it's nice to have them now, this game is closer to the best it can be with each update.
We're still missing Sandy and some of the moms as spouse candidates heh.

Man, Stardew Valley is such a great game, I'm glad Barone is supporting the game this much 3+ years after launch.

    EDIT:
Barone has already stated the Vita version won't get any more content updates, because of technical limitations and because of significant rewrites to the code of the game back when 1.3 released.

Nice. I am glad to see there's an independent developer out there who puts as much love and effort into his game as Eric does. ConcernedApe deserves all kinds of awards and praise. Sure, it's got a lot of bugs, but for a single man working on it, it's pretty damn good.

Nice update! Looking forward to playing it on my switch. PC has some nice mods, but it's fun playing without them too.

What news is this? I know he was forced to patch the previous "exploit" because nintendo didn't like it.

No multiplayer mode for android? I'm highly disappointed.

I was going to start this game a few weeks ago for the first time and then saw your thread that it was going to receive an update so I help off! Looks like this game is again getting pushed to the front of my backlog.

it has already been stated that the mobile versions will most likely never get multiplayer

He didn't say it will "never" get multiplayer, but that it's "uncertain" that mobile will ever get it. ConcernedApe actually isn't responsible for the mobile versions, it's a separate dev team called The Secret Police that was hired by ChuckleFish to port the game over to iOS/Android, so there's not much he can do about it directly.

i think the mobile version sold pretty well, the online multiplay feature could be a great incentive to push even higher the sales.

it does have some stability issues though. And the reason I don't expect multiplayer is because the current multiplayer code on other platforms is basically a bundled mess of code that barely works as is

They're talking about the Item ID Exploit that Nintendo had them patch, essentially you could name a farm animal, child, or even yourself with a certain string that had up to 3 Item ID's in it, and you'd instantly get those items whenever the name was mentioned in dialogue, you could then repeat the steps, and essentially have infinite money, complete the museum, and community center in no time, and gear up for the mine's, and skull cavern in just a day, or two... it is a huge thing in speed running the game, and also really good for those who want to cut some of the grind in post game content like with the Gold Clock for instance.

it's removal is the reasons why I currently don't play the Switch version anymore, or if I will it'll be on my hacked console, I mean I love the game, but it can be a tedious grind sometimes. I just don't find that fun IMO.
