So I recently formated my Wii, in purpose of some homebrews. I got the USB Loader GX, and I put my games on my 160G hard drive. My Super Smash Bros. Brawl disc is scratched and unplayable. I downloaded the PAL version of the game (I own both PAL Wii and disc), and put it with the other games. I don't have back up of SSBB, and I surely don't want to go through the get-all-the-characters process all again, so I go for that : http://www.wiisave.com/index.php?dlid=1895 or http://www.animals.free.fr/data.bin

The problem is that my original disc is scratched, and I can't burn one 'cause the ISO need double layer (7.92G). So I have to use the Waninkoko's Savegame manager (which need no disc to copy savegame), but the manager do not support data.bin file. I was wondering if there is a way to convert the data.bin file into a format compatible with Waninkoko's Savegame manager, or otherwise if someone can do the conversion for me (put the savegame with the manager wich require the disc, and extract that same savegame with the manager that require none).

So...

data.bin : http://www.animals.free.fr/data.bin
Savegame Installer (require disc and data.bin) : http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_apps/Savegame_Installer
Waninkoko's Savegame manager (to extract the gamesave in the right format, no disc needed) : http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=152407

Thanks !

the one u downloaded should be compatible with the save file

The Savegame Installer is compatible with data.bin file (which I own), but Savegame Installer also require the disc (which I do NOT own). So I'm forced to use Waninkoko's Savegame manager, which require a banner.bin and a bunch of other files. I'm stucked, the only way I have to get the savegame is :

1) Burn the disc (I can't afford that 'cause of the double layer)

or

2) Someone with the PAL disc of SSBB put the savegame on his Wii, and then extract that same savegame with Waninkoko's Savegame manager (he'll get banner.bin and a bunch of other files).

Unpack the save using FE100 (port of segher's tachtig and twintig) or using segher's tachtig... then use the save manager or pack the save with the aforementioned tools...

Since SSBB uses protected saves, you should be able to use either nocopy patches on system menu using preloader or similar or use rebooter function in gecko os...

By the way, AFAIK save manager don't need discs. indeed needs?

Burn the game onto a disc and use that.

Is there anyway to burn the ISO on a single layer disc ? My comptuter can't handle double layers, and there is only NTSC disc to rent in the region.

Thanks a lot ! But what you got seems to differ a little of an fresh extraction of an newly created savegame file. This screenshot will reveal more than I...

files.png

The thing that seems to don't fit is the banner file, I tried rename it to banner.bin, but the savegame manager don't took it. Is there anything to do about that ? Oh yea, and your banner file is 37kb, the fresh one is 29kb.

Edit : Here is a link to a freshly extracted savegame (almost nothing on it) : http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b200b06...621d66e282a0ee8

Edit 2 : I finnaly got that working by keeping the extracted banner.bin, and replaced the other files by yours. Thanks, you are the man. =)

Yeah segher's tools extract the contents of banner.bin as pbm images to make them easy to modify, but they are not crucial part of a save actually as you tested. Game possibly makes a fresh copy of that file from the stored template savefile in the game disc. Anyway, you already solved your problem.

I may have misread the question but you could simply use the gecko 1.9.1 and remove no copy flags and then copy the data.bin from wiisave straight to the wii through data management screen.

I may be misunderstanding the prolem.

I think you can't, 'cause MK PAL and MK NTSC are two "different" games, at least the Wii thinks that way. You'll need to start all over again, or download a savegame.

Edit : Disregard that, I misreaded your problem.

Come on guys, you know how the wii stuff works, anyone?

I can create a PAL save using a pal iso on the wii(ntsc), that means wii CAN handle saves from other regions, but how can you install them on the system from an sd

Theres is save game manager but i heard it cant install DL data.bin files
