Hello guys.
I'm with a problem here.
My wii just broke the laser, than I sent it to a especialist to fix that.
It's came working perfect, but, my Super Smash Bros Brawl Dvd9 is not working anymore.I sent back to the technical and he said that my wii will never run a dvd9 game anymore (idiot, I dunno why he said that, every wii has to read DVD DL)
When I put my SSBB in my wii, it makes like "3 Tocs"...Like " reading--toc, reading--toc, reading--toc"..And than the disc channel says that the wii could not read the disc with that simbol "?".
I burnt 2 ssbb with a sony AW-Q170A, in a DVD+DL Ridata, in 2,4x and 4x.I used the layer braker on both of them.It still making the TOC noise.
Can somebody help me with this problem? Please?

Thanks everybody for helping me.

Apparently the guy has put a laser in there not capable of reading DVD9? =\

You could get the DVD5 version for now, not sure if there's a way to fix it other than to get a new laser?
Maybe there's some sort of calibration method

I know the method of calibration by turning a POT under the laser, but I can not oppen my wii, at least until february.

I'm getting the "?" symbol on the disc channel too, exactly the same problem you described.
when it succed to read it (1 out of 100 try), it can't read video on second layer and hang after save creation.

I suppose I will need an osciloscope, I don't want to make the wii to not read any DVD at all.

Right man, There is the tutorial.

You won't need a osciloscope, just a multimeter, knowledge on eletronic and carefully.
You wii need a very thin point for the multimeter. But you can improvise that with wire and tipe..
I dunno it it will work, but there is risk to brick your wii.So be carefull, I recommend to play the dvd5 game, and when they release another games with dvd9, we will need to do that..

Maybe one day I'll try it (with another DVD9 needed game), I don't want to open my wii up to the POT right now. I just wanted to know which value is best for the drive.

about your Wii, I don't understand why the technician doesn't want to make your wii working.
You deserve a console to be fully working !
Maybe you could try contacting them again and explain your paid game do not work anymore and you want a working laser.

I think it's what you already told them, but maybe you can talk to someone else who will listen and agree to change it again.
