Gaming SSBB Disc Drive Noise

Mine kind of makes the same noise but certainly not as loud.

I suppose there could be a couple of reasons,
Media, the discs you are using might not be the greatest quality
POT, the pot value on your dvd drive might be too low or too high causing it to have trouble with the DL disc

I was thinking maybe if you've got a Wiikey it may be that but the newest firmware sets it to 3x I think and I don't think there's any way to change it.

My wii has been doing that with every game for a year. I assume that it's the laser dying or something, but not sure.

It's a legit launch day wii (UK launch) playing imported SSBB using the freeloader.

That was recorded with a DVD5 burn BTW.

The game does that same sound on both dual-layer and single-layer discs, but on dual-layer burns it makes some TOCs after the disc is put in.

Er, all my Wii games, originals and copies, does that because the laser drive/mechanism is going back and forth reading data at different spots on the disc.
