Spring into XBLA with Arcade NEXT

Beginning on April 18, Microsoft is bringing us four new XBLA games, in an event titled "Arcade NEXT".

April 18 -- Trials Evolution (1,200msp)

The follow-up to the smash hit "Trials HD"! Build your own tracks with the built-in editor, or download player created tracks. Customize your bike and rider, compete on the leaderboards and take on skill-based minigames.

April 25 -- Bloodforge (1,600msp)

Slaughter hordes of demonic soldiers and even the gods themselves in a dark, visceral story of revenge, betrayal and destiny.

May 2 -- Fable Heroes (800msp)

Work together with up to four players to defeat enemies, while also competing for gold coins. The gold collected in Fable Heroes can be imported into the upcoming Kinect enabled "Fable: The Journey".

May 9 -- Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (1,600msp)

This one needs no introduction! The popular PC sandbox crafter comes to XBLA with a brand-new interface, a full tutorial and split-screen multiplayer over Xbox Live, a first for Minecraft.

All of the games will offer 400 gamerscore and up to 30 achievements to unlock, as per Microsoft's new policy.

if it's good I may consider buying an xbox since my pc only runs it on minimal settings with a decent framerate.

This seems like a rather disappointing spring for XBLA. Although Fable Heroes does look infinitely more promising than Fable: The Journey, as sad as that may be.

It's a great game. Guess not all people have the same opinions. And it's cheaper than most games here.

And according to EVERY SINGLE Minecraft fan I talked to, they say "Yeah, Minecraft is great... With a shit ton of mods".

I'd much rather bite on a Terraria XBLA. That shit would be on like Donkey Kong.

Woo Trials Evoluition! Had an awesome time demoing this at PAX Prime, and loved the orignal. Can't wait. Fable looks ok, will consider after demo (800MSP could make it a possible purchase). And Bloodforge and Minecraft are just not my type of game. To each's own.

Resident Evil 4/Code Veronica are 1600 points each but they're considered "Games on Demand" and not "XBLA". But yeah, it's bullshit.

Just seems silly that I can get Perfect Dark and Beyond Good and Evil for $10 a piece but goddamn Minecraft and whatever this Bloodforge is are like twice as much.
