Spectrobe beyond the portals isn't out yet but the original Spectrobes got an average of 64% on Gamerankings (so its probably crap).

From the looks of it, almost every gripe from the original game is being addressed and corrected. I'm actually pretty optimistic about the sequel!

They think it's a clear improvement upon the original and a worthy alternative to Pokemon!

Well it's already out. I have played it and it seems to be good so far, lot's of errors from the first version have been fixed, the game system revamped. If you are interrested in such games, give it a try.
Graphicwise it looks pretty good. It lacks voice acting but has quite a few animated cutscenes.

OffTopic: I think it's funny how even Disney now tends to adopt to the Anime style. If I wouldn't read Disney in the Intro, and if the game had sum Japanese Names in it I am sure it could be mistaken for Japanese Production. =O

Nope. It's terrible. They didn't even bother improving on the icon for crying out loud. Everything seems to be exactly the same. The dialogue is as boring as hell and there's way too much of it. Deleted it within 30 minutes of play

I did play quite a lot (up until the actual battling started). Realised nothing was new :[

Don't compare experience by the time, compare it by the amount completed

EVen though its 3D i prefer pokemon. real time battles is so boring. button mashing with A doesn't appeal me.

Gave it a try and most likly won't be playing it to much,despite pokemon being flawed to hell it's more of my "style",atleast till a new DQ game takes me away from pokemon......

well, i played it for about 2.5 hours yesterday.

it is alot better.

you dont even participate in the battles (you could only ever hit like 5 damage in the first one, that sucked...)

you control one of your spectrobes, and the other one even has exceptional ai.

whole incubation process is way easier to understand.

it is alot easier to figure out what you need to do for a particular mission.

you can dig up these little wonder ball type things that have like 6 minerals inside them =)


if you didnt like the first one, because it was way too tedious, you should give this one a try.
