i just wanna say that i would like the following game translated:
Ninokuni Shikkoku no Madoushi(NDS)

i didn't make an post in the 'game translation request thread' because i have some information that could help other translate this great game
my friend "13philip13" moderator of:www.gametranslations.net has reached the script of the game
and made some screenshot

as you can see, he reached and edited the text

he says that he has no time to translate this game but that he is willing to help you guys reach text
and graphic files

i am not familiar with the Japanese language nor romhacking, and philip has no time to translate this
game, so i want to ask if some of you would like to translate this game or atleast assist in this project

if you want info on how to get to the text and how to edit it, please contact philip via MSN:
[email protected]
or visit his forum@

I'm pretty sure it will be released in the West. Not sure whether they confirmed it officially, but for now you'd better put your translating skills in another project.

Appreciate the effort, though.

No repectable Translation/HAcking team will translate this because they don't support Day 1 translations...especially when an English version of the game has been confirmed.

and then you would still need the book, or its contents

yeah but in what year will we get the relase 2012 or 2020??

As said, you still need the book. Or you can translate it as a PDF or something... But then you'll finish it in 5 years so it's better to wait x)

Expect it within a year or two. Reasoning behind this? Studio Ghibli.

Fan translation of this is utterly pointless. It's also the largest DS game ever made as far as I know, and there is a /crapload/ of text throughout it.

If some poor fool agrees to actually work on it, I offer them my condolences at the loss of their mental functions.

The other problem with a translation is that you have to translate the entire 350 page book as well. That alone would be a huge undertaking.

I'm sorta curious how the English translation will go. There are lots of 'jap-lish' type of things in the book/manual that won't directly translate. Also the entire alphabet language needs to be re-vamped since it's also based on the Japanese alphabet. So the translation effort will be pretty difficult as you need to change a lot of things that also have impacts on the ingame text and on the manual itself.

But the japanese voices will go away in an official translation. Like they did for Layton, and the result was so lame.
At least if some fans translated the game, it would keep its original voices.

One might also like to remember and consider that this game is by Studio Ghibli, who have always excelled in providing great localisation efforts. I don't see that there is anything to worry about, myself. I have the entire movie collection, both in japanese and in english, and I love both versions equally. They can come across slightly different, but that doesn't make it any better or worse in my opinion.

Best. News. Ever.
Well, next to Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright.

So. Incredibly. Happy~ WHOOOOOOOPPP

And to everyone worrying about an undub... WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?! LAYTON'S DUB IS FINE! It's set in London, they are meant to be English, so the voices make perfect sense... If anything, I would prefer the Eng voices to the Japanese (because Luke just sounds like every other generic Japanese little boy)

I mean c'mon, just be glad the game is being released in English at all! >___
