I finally got GBA SP AGS-101 - an ugly, beaten up tribal one in otherwise working and good condition.
Bought spare housing shell, disassembled the console and put it in the new case. Had to take the new screen cover off a few times and put it back until it did not leak any extra backlight on either side, but everything else went quite smoothly. Though I still don't know why the hinges kept weird "click" sound in 45 degree angle when closing the screen, but it went away while I disassembled the console a few times to adjust the screen cover.
Replacement came with 5 screw covers for the screws in the screen, like in the original. But there's no adhesive on either side of any of them. The tutorial videos do not talk about these or say what kind of glue I should be using... or are those meant to be just mounted in their place without any adhesive?
