Hey, i need some help getting a laptop to "detect" the headphones i put in.

It's an Asus with Windows 7, not my computer so dont know much about it. Tried using diffrent headphones and i know they work on other computers etc.

Been looking in the control panel and stuff and when i plug in any type of headphones it just doesn't find it. On my phone now so dont have time to add much here.

are you using USB headphones or something? if your using normal jack headphones which go into the headphone socket and if still no joy check to see if the sound card is installed properly (conflicts) also go through the mixer and sound options in the control panel, maybe headphones has been turned off in there.

It might be worth checking the sound options to see if it's trying to output in headphones or through inbuilt speakers, although my experience with all computers and laptops is that it does that automatically when they're plugged in...
