Hey guys, remember when Bamco cared about their middle child SoulCalibur? Yeah, me neither. But today that all changes as Bamco has announced an HD remake of SoulCalibur II with online capabilities.

    Source

It is unknown if any of the guest characters will be returning, or if Necrid will make a return. Link is obviously out, since there is no Wii U port announced.

Wonder how they'll do the Link, Heihentai (Whatever the PS2's version Tekken exclusive fighter was), and Spawn characters this time around.

Make a Wii U version, damn it! Everyone's complaining that there's no games for the system, yet no one is making them! (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ ┻━┻
If it's on the PS3 and 360, then it can work on the Wii U as well.

No Wii U version so no Link, the only reason why I got the Gamecube version :(

I'm sorry, but I don't sign those because they never work, I think it would be more effective to just send angry emails than sign those

If there's a risk of low or no return profits, then most publishers are going to stay the hell away :/

But that's the problem, no one is giving it a chance. Of course there's a risk of the system failing if no one gives it a chance. Once people start actually making games for it, then people will start buying it. Plus Nintendo needs to be more aggressive, they want this system to be viewed as hardcore, but haven't really shown us any efforts in doing so. They've just been busy delaying games and letting 3rd party go, instead of working with them to make more games.
The system's greatest failure isn't the hardware, it's Nintendo's lack of marketing aggression.

To nip any possible arguments in the bud: SoulCalibur III > SoulCalibur II > SoulCalibur IV > SoulCalibur > Soul Edge >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SoulCalibur V.

There, now the issue is settled for all time (no, seriously, ALL TIME, don't even try to debate it).

Honestly, I think it's a licensing issue more than anything else holding back a release of the GC version. Non-SC fans dived for that thing just for Link and it was the version that sold the best IIRC

I actually didn't like Soul Calibur III as much as Soul Calibur II. I will firmly agree, however, that III is a shining star compared to most everything else in the series. IV was passable, I guess, but the Tower of Souls or w/e it was just sucked.

In terms of systems sold to game sales, the Gamecube version had the best ratio, but with how many systems the PS2 put out there, not so surprisingly, the PS2 version sold the best.

Shame they went with the PS2 version. Both the Xbox and GameCube versions looked and played better, they even supported 16:9 and 480p. Not like it would have been hard to remove the guest character from either version.

I can finally get good at this game! But I'm still disapointed that there will be no Link, he was the reason I rented the gamecube version.

It's an HD and Online port/remake. 720p and widescreen are a given.

Link was cool but far low/bottom tier.

Oh boy Soul Calibur V made me want to stick my dick in a wood chipper. Fucking pointless game lol. I absolutely loved II and the Weapon Master mode.
