I think the Vita will give them enough time to finish the PS4, so no need to hurry. But who knows.

That mean people expecting way better graphics than today on PC will be disappointed.
The ps4 won't launch at 500/600$, or at least I hope so. Maybe Sony will give us some detail at E3 2012, like microsoft.
    E3 2012 might be very interesting :D

Wonder what they going to come up with or they just going to move the Move and Kinect to the next consoles and just work
    on that?

Well actually, they just need to to release it with better graphics than the wii u (even if it is just by a little) with the same controllers. Some will just be
    happy with that.

    What?
    You mean almost all gamers.

If the next Playstation has bullshit motion forced crap in, I'm not buying.

The Dualshock 4 will have a 1" 1920x1080 touch screen built into it. They'll find a way.

Hahahahahahaha stealing AGAIN from Nintendo? Whahahaha not so smart.

also it would indeed be smart to release console around Wiiu an 720 time.

You're not so bright, are you?

OT: Sony will do fine. The PS3 had a bit of a rough time, but it has pulled itself from the ashes to become a respectable, well priced system.

I think that this next system could come out a half year to a year after the next Microsoft console and still be on solid ground. As long as they can build up a solid library of games for launch and afterwards, keep the price and graphics competitive, and market it well, they should be on solid ground.

Well Sony can still catch up, why are they rushing towards releasing a new console when they just announced the PSP Vita? Isn't the PSP Vita and PS3 going to be use in ways that will extend the PS3's shelf life?

There are tons of sony fanboys and great sony-only games though.
It's not like releasing the PS4 late will lessen their profits.
We'll just wait for it :P

    Take your damn time Sony.

Wait for me to get a PS3 and play every current-gen game that I missed out on.

Nothing's stopping you from getting a PS4 - chances are it will be backwards-compatible.

Oh yeah, Sony, do it again. Get rushed by the competition into releasing a huge, heavy, hard to develop for machine with hardware failure issues.

The important thing is getting it out at the same time as Nintendo and Microsoft, right? Right?

That sounds very much like the original XBox if you ask me, much less than the PS3, although it had its share of problems.

And yes, I mean the PS4's from 2016-2017. I'm just kidding, ain't no point in waiting.

The original launch PS3s have fundamental issues. At the time, they were forced by some regulations to use leadless solder on the boards. This caused problems. Under the extreme heat produced by the console, despite the hilariously huge fan inside, the solder could crack or bridge. This is the cause of the YLOD issues.
    I own a 60GB launch YLOD PS3.

And yes, original PS3s are fucking huge and heavy.

Edit: I hope nobody's denying how comparatively hard is is to develop for PS3. That's why all Multiplat games on PS3 are 360 ports >.>

So the slim version has much less chances of a YLOD caused by overheating?

It's hard to develop for for the same reason it was hard to develop for the Saturn, and it'd be about time to get used to it such bizzare multicore systems, since it's the only way to buff up the specs nowadays, really.
