a noobish question at this point, is the capacity of the bluray discs fully used for the data masses of the games? i wonder if they do because e.g. in comparison the pc version of assassins creed just uses 8 gb discs and the graphicl level is nearby equal, when not better.

Didn't the MGS4 team have so much space left over on their Blu-Ray that they decided to leave the audio uncompressed?

Blu-Ray isn't fully utilised by video games at the moment, heck I doubt its fully utilised for movies (unless somebody wants to put almost uncompressed HD footage onto one) so this upgrade will go unnoticed until we do need the space.

And in the meantime BRING ON THE 1tB DVD!!!!

    "partial response maximum likelihood"

aka "errr I think it is a 1"

If I have read it correctly the space gained is probably that saved from dropping the amount of redundant data and hoping your guesswork: that scratch is even worse now and if memory serves scratches do not do wonders on blu ray discs (moreso than earlier optical media).

@Jamstruth "uncompressed HD footage" is far beyond the mediocre storage capacities of optical media unless you especially like your 4 second clip (standard is in the gigabytes a minute, "HD" as it has been dubbed has four times the area).
