It seems nobody has developed a decent wii chat homebrew application. If I knew C# or C++ or whichever were required I'd deffinately attempt it. It could use: msn, aol, yahoo, irc or whatever. It'd just be nice to see some form of wifi text chat channel. Allowing you to hold group or one on one conversations with friends. With keyboard support. So one question remains... Why hasn't this been done yet!? I think it'd be a great addition to the homebrew library. I know the latest version of gc-linux for wii has irc support. But I don't yet know of a single dedicated homebrew app. :/

I remember hearing about someone working on something kind of like that but I haven't actually seen anything yet.
I would also love a IRC client.

There is one in development called WiiConnect...
The alpha version is available via Homebrew Browser or wiibrew.org, however I should point out that at this point, nothing works.
I downloaded it when it was first released very excited, however was soon let down when I realized that at this point its mostly graphics. A very cool idea, if/when it ever gets finalized.
