Nothing that hasn't been done before, that's definite.
HD rumble may will be used for something interesting new (actually it already was used for playing sounds. Maybe there is more to explore, it really is a matter of someone having a interesting idea), but indeed this system hasn't anything exotic or new that really sticks out unlike e.g. the DS (Dualscreen+touchscreen to a time not everyone already owned a portable device with touchscreen) or the Wii that distributed gyroscopes and accelerometers to the masses and even gave us this new strange technology that allowed pointer function on
non-crt TVs. Non-CRT pointer function for a reasonable price? Wild and alot of fun
.
The NX exists in a time everyone has a smartphone in there pocket. Why should I develop anything with a new concept for the NX if it also runs on my smartphone? It even uses the same CPU architecture as almost all smartphones out there...
Yet there seem to be alot of very enthusiastic people, people who really love the NX and I believe this enthusiasm and love will lead to a good maybe even excellent homebrew support. I believe we will get (pretty much) everything we know from all the other platforms. The chances that NX will be
the platform to be on as homebrew dev in the next years seem really high to me
Also don't forget:
Two separate movement tracking HD-rumble enabled devices that you always carry with you. Two of them. That seems reasonable for a 3D environment and indeed as for now mostly unexplored terrain for homebrew developers. Maybe we will see something interesting made with that as well. Also this system is by far more accessible in price and in programming skill/math needed then the other interesting devices of our time (VR devices).
I think you're abit to pessimistic, understandable after the WiiU yet not really justified.
You really should begin to believe that interesting times in regard of NX homebrew is coming
We will get Kodi and emulators and all this stuff and the chances really aren't bad for a couple of homebrews that will "define" this console for you down the line in the same way specific games "define" a console. Maybe one or two of them will explore new interesting concepts.
It's
not definite that we won't see anything new and until now unexplored on this system. That's for sure.
