1. I don't see how that could be a problem. I always play FPSes on the bus, with no issues with aiming. Maybe I just have steady hands.superspudz2000 said:3 Fingers?? my middle finger cant even reach the bottom of the ds.I think you're doing it wrong. When I said the bottom, I meant the back of it (i.e. where the "Nintendo DS" labelling is). It only works if you hold the DS almost parallel with the ground (as in, the screens pointing up).
Then again, if you have sasquatch hands, your pinky still might hang off a little.
QUOTE(superspudz2000 @ May 7 2011, 03:49 PM) but anyway, your argument is invalid for several reasons
#1. on a bumpy Car/bus/train ride the stylus will shake around slightly making it impossible to aim.
#2. playing a DS in public is embarrassing enough. whipping out a stylus in public just makes you look like a Real Goober. using Stylus ruins your Macho Manly image. which is the whole point of playing a "Killing War" game in the first place. to look cool.
#3. why not have the option to play it any way they want. (ahem Goldeneye!). its not going to ruin the game for anybody if theres more options.
#4. Playstation and Xbox usually dont have Mouse or Touchscreen, they use Controllers which is how most people play FPS. holding a PS2 controller with both hands.
#5. just like the Starfox & Zelda D-Pad thread there are always whiners and nay-sayers. it dosent mean its not a good idea. if somebody wants to play it a certain way let them have it.
2. Sorry, we can't help you with being a poser.
2b. You play games to entertain yourself, not to be some loser trying to show off your 'macho manly' games.
3. AFAIK, Goldeneye DS has the same controls as CoD. And if you're talking about Goldeneye 64, then the default controls were abysmal anyway. It's great how they thought of a dual-thumbstick control scheme using 2 controllers.
4. *insert generic "KB+M is better" argument here*
4b. *insert rant about poser 'hardcore gamers' here*
5. Those are different. Zelda was designed to be played with buttons, not gimmicky controls that don't fit the game (even though Nintendo did it right). Starfox originated on digital controls, which caused some fans to dislike the touchscreen exclusive controls (there are also a few aspects where they screwed up the controls, but I won't get into that).
For FPS games, this argument is null and void, as 99% of the DS's FPS games use this, and gamers don't complain. In fact, I think you're the only person I've seen complaining about generic DS FPS controls, ever.
