Hardware Some questions 1 : How does work d3 and d3-2 board ?

I'm curious and my knowledge is not so good to understand why N can delete a chip, and console can be already fonctionnal ?

If functions add to another chip why team can't do chip for control it ?

FYI, the D3-2 DVD drive in the new Wii's cannot play backup discs, ever!
You CAN play games from USB or SD.

I'm surprise when I see news dvd player without chip (d2-nothing d3 etc...) and, I like to understand how it's works

Where are functions handle by the chip on news board whitout.

I hope i'm more clear

Putting a modchip on a normal drive will force it to read the Wii game (ignoring the Burst Cutting Area).
If you install a modchip on a D3-2 drive, it will do exactly the same.

The only problem is that the D3-2 drive CANNOT read DVDs. So even if the ModChip forces it to read the DVD, it simply can't. Thats why D3-2 drives don't play backup discs.

How can wii do for read dvd without chipset on board ?

My question is not about modchip, just board of dvd player, I can see how it works without chipset (d2c, d2e etc...)
