I'm sure once it's released it will be far better than existing SNES emulators, but even I'm starting to lose interest. Luckily I haven't been using my DSi much so it's not vital that I get this update soon, so I'll just continue not paying attention to the scene and hope eventually they'll have something new for us.

Hmm, what's up with the screenshots?
They're not scaled, and they're cropping off the bottom of the screens.
Hopefully they'll resolve that, and include basic scaling options like in SNEmulDS, they're all too necessary and shouldn't be much of an issue with the processor doing the work.

That's what I was hoping...Godslash did say the current version is kind of...basic, though, so it could be that things like that just haven't been added in yet (I'm sure the release version will at the very least have some kind of GUI, while the version he has does not).

I'm guessing there is scaling options and other compatibility options but without the implementation of a UI working with it may be a problem.

I don't care how long it takes for them to finish/release it. Heck, I'd probably be fi.ne if they decided to release it mid-august even.

As long as it can play the following, I'm happy

-Brutal Mario (SMW Hack)
-VIP Mario Series (SMW Hack)
-SMB3X (SMW Hack)
-The Second Reality Project (SMW Hack)
-*Insert long list of other SMW hacks here*
-Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Without any Layer or GFX Issues)
-Chrono Trigger (Without any Layer or GFX Issues)
-Earthbound
-Secret of Mana (Without any Layer/GFX Issues)
-Secret of Evermore (Without any Layer/GFX Issues)
-Super Mario All Stars (Without any Layer Issues)
-Super Mario World (Without Layer/GFX Issues)
-Megaman 7 (Without any Layer/GFX Issues)
-Megaman X, X2, X3 (Without any Layer/GFX Issues)
-Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds (LTTP Hack, Without any Layer/GFX issues)
-Final Fantasy 3 (6 on the GBA, I had almost forgotten about this one)
-Final Fantasy 4
-Final Fantasy 5
-Kirby Super Star
-Kirbys Dream Land 3

If it can play these, then extra props.
-Super Mario RPG
-Star Fox
-Star Fox 2

As for the GUI, I'm not sure why a simple gui wouldn't work. I mean we don't really need it to be too fancy, do we. We're not really going to be looking at the SNES Emu's menu constantly instead of playing SNES games. As far as I'm concerned, they could use a simple GUI similar to that of Lameboy or something. Just as long as it's functional, that's really all that matters.

Course, if they are already making a fancy GUI, then that's fine too.

Actually, the funny thing is. If Super Mario RPG works, then there's a good chance that 90% of other games will work as well.

For people concerned with with resolution an admin in the Chinese forums has posted the the released version of the SNES emulator will have full screen
QUOTE said:
SFC simulator for resolution and not the same as DS. Do not deal with. Now is the engineering version of the resolution did not change directly. The official version will make full screen stretch or other treatment
SFC = SNES

Meh, they should've done the same with the whole DSTWO, to be honest.
It's better to delay things untill they are at least in a state that the developer thinks is good enough for it to be released.
The public/customers shouldn't decide on that. I think it'd be better for all of us if they just went on developing the DSTWO more before releasing.
Anyway, to quit whining: looks good! I'm impressed the team got this far already with the emulator to do a private test so soon.
I seriously expected this private test to be done next month...

Yeah, I'd give it until mid-august, just for safe measure.

Again, I think I can safely say that anyone would rather have 99.9% SNES compatibility, than have a half baked SNES emulator with big issues.

Hopefully the SDK will come out this month even if the SNES emulator does not.

the SDK is the reason why the snes emu is late, their have been big bugs that they'veneen trying to fix so the snes emu has been but on a complete hiatus till the bugs are squashed. so don't keep your hopes up
