So...why does my internet channel still work?

    OK, isn't the internet channel not supposed to be free anymore? Then why does mine still work?

    Oh, I thought it was free for awhile and then you had to pay, but that must be for the new purchasers then. Cool.

    It wasn't the internet itself they charge for now but the application (Opera) browser. It's pay to download it just like the VC games. If you downloaded earlier when in beta and the first release (Nintendo had said this) then there would be no charge when it was updated later.

    Naw the Wii Browser pre-July 1st 07(in NA region) was free. Once you get the download all upgrades, replacements if you have a system problem, etc are free as you were logged to have purchased/acquired it free already.

    SO even if you do BUY it now, it's just $5 once and never again.
