Oh man, I used to have dial-up up until about 4 years ago. I remember going to the library so I could watch actual videos on Youtube (back when it was still good), which would mostly consist of Super Smash Bros. Melee glitches and other gameplay. Man, 4 years doesn't seem that long in the natural, but it seems ages now that I've been using Cox.

3-5 minutes to load a web page.. Now those were the days.

Since a while ago dial-up (for some ISPs) became free. Unfortunately most people have no idea and are still under the impression that it's 1p a minute.

Either way, my family have been quite quick to keep up to date with internet advances, from some of the older "rocket" modems to the classical 56k modem and now to C21 broadband in the UK. At some point I'm prolly going to get my dad to move us onto Virgin's 50/100Mbs cable, but for now we don't need the extra speed (and it's 5x as expensive anyway).
