So..when is the EZ flash parallel being updated

I guess they got my money but they won't be getting it again. I'm never buying a flashcart that has just come out ever again. I don't even think the majority of Youtubers who shilled this thing were lying persay. They probably just tested it a tiny bit, didn't notice any issues, and called it a day.

I gave up hope years ago after they pulled the 1.05 RC update offline. We got a few tiny "try this" updates in the comments section, but that's about it.

I just gave up on the product, and went with the EDGB on AliExpress for half the price, and I've been happy with it. And I use separate MBC flash carts for Gen 2 Pokemon games. BennVenn makes a great cart that can fit two 2MB Gen 2 Pokemon ROMs with separate RTC and save files. It's 100% worth the money, it's called MBC3000 V4 over at High Score Tech Supply.

What surprises me is the lack of consistency with their product line.

EZ-Flash II and III (where I started my EZ-Flash journey) were hot garbage and difficult+cumbersome to use.
EZ-Flash IV (White, miniSD) was a banger, despite the weird miniSD formfactor.
EZ-Flash IV Redux (Black, microSD) was a no-frills update, but still a banger.
EZ-Flash V and VI was fairly well-recieved, but you don't really hear much about them.
EZ-Flash 3in1 was a banger.
EZ-Flash Jr - Hot garbage with no support (or even EOL support, despite still being an actively sold product) with many issues left unaddressed. Leaves me thinking they need a hardware revision to fix the issues, and that they don't want to admit it or do that. The menu is sluggish as hell for seemingly no reason, especially navigating page by page. The power-draw on this thing at boot, loading ROMs, and saving progress is just ridiculous and causes power straining issues on IPS-modded Gameboys, instability at SD INIT, and can crash the system at any time. My fix is to set the screen brightness as low as possible at boot, load your ROM, and then play with the screen turned up. Lower it again to save and reboot to flush the save to SD. 0/10, cannot recommend this garbage cart.
EZ-Flash Omega was a banger with a few issues later addressed in firmware upgrades and kernel updates.
EZ-Flash Omega DE is quite literally perfect, especially with the community support here on the Temp for kernel updates and custom skins.
EZ-Flash Parallel took everything you'd expect from a NDS Flash cart, and broke it in some way. At least the shell and PCB look nice though. I'm unaware if they've fixed any of the issues it had at launch with firmware or kernel updates at this time, as I haven't kept an eye on it.

But yeah... their product consistency is just all over the place, and it sucks because they really do make some cool stuff on occasion. Just doesn't instill any confidence in buying their products, especially at launch.

The annoying part was the fact that the later microSD variants have a larger gap in the casing, originally where the Mini SD slot would fit. They didn't bother making another case for this exact model, probably to reduce manufacturing costs.

Furthermore, there were two variations of the DS lite variants - the original white variant called the IV Lite and the black variant called the VI Lite Deluxe. Not sure what the differences are between, but it's very confusing nonetheless.

Bring it on. You have to use Windows XP 32-bit just to start the software. Then the writing to the cartridge would randomly fail when writing large ROMS. You also had to flash games to it in the order you want them on the cart, AND they can't be trimmed ROMs either. Totally horrendous experience for me. Oh, and the software liked to just crash randomly too for no reason, so that's fun as well.

But by all means, defend your garbage.

I just really hated using the II and the III. My III eventually stopped working and locked it's flash chip to read-only mode after less than 50 flashes, which is quite pathetic as it was marketed as a dev cartridge.

By the way, someone tested EZP Recovery Tool with brand new EZP and confirmed that it doesn't need any special commands/unlocking/desoldering of WP pin. Looks like you can flash the entire chip. If you are able to run EZP Recovery Tool (must be booted via DSi or slot2 device on DS/DS Phat, you can't run this tool from the EZP itself) then you should probably avoid 1.06. 1.06 locks first couple blocks of flash so you lose any ability to customize it with custom roms.

Besides if you make a backup, you can always just restore it if it ever did brick.

I think so? I haven't messed with cheats much but I believe it uses a cheat engine for widescreen patches for 3DS so I imagine you might be be able to use cheats with it.
