Hey folks, Seems to be a lot of talk that the R4DS is "dead". However, realhotstuff.com has R4's in stock for $28 and free shipping, which is a pretty nifty deal. I'd like to get a flash cart for my sister and she doesn't need all the fancy stuff I have with my CycloDS, so I was trying to go a bit cheaper, but while still being reliable. R4's been the industry standard. So, are the R4's at realhotstuff.com fakes? Real? Something else? And is it even worth getting an R4 anymore, or should I pony up the extra cash for the CycloDS? For the record, I am VERY happy with my CycloDS I personally have. Thanks!
Just get the AceKard 2 or DSTT if you want something reliable or at least cheap. Though it is unknown if the DSTT at RHS is a clone or not. I don't think you'll want to deal with the newer problems that are arising as the days go by with the R4. Or if possible, even try to get an M3 Real. They just stocked EV5 Pluses but I don't know how good those are.
the R4 is DEAD becaues there WILL NOT be anymore update for the R4 FW there is NO official support for the R4 it has as BUGGY cheat system that will never be fixed there are games the dont work on it and may never (they may run with patches) also there are BETTER cards the R4 the cost about the same price R4 WAS industry standard, but there are alot better cards now
its also dead because the r4 team stopped making the kit about 3 months ago. and um.. its in a huge lawsuit overseas? also i bought an r4 from rhs about a month ago and they sent me a clone in a legit package. i posted images here, just look in the r4 section. -another world
