So what is your bet that the launch title will be?

Consider the reveal trailer, it would most likely be Mario Kart but I don't rule out a Zelda remaster either. Too bad it wouldn't be Metroid Prime 4 since it already annouced for Switch and Switch 2 is BC so no reason to port it. I hope there is a surprise title that they still hold back because Mario Kart seem like a rather boring choice for launch title consider it barely look any different than Mario Kart 8.

I'm sorry, but that's just wrong, mate, I'm sorry

Anyways even after months, I still believe there's a big chance that Prime 4 is a cross gen title like BOTW. They both took years to make for their intended console at the time, but once finished there was already a new gen console on the way, so they ported it to the new consoles to help sales at launch and have another first party launch title.

If they're already showing the new Mario Kart this early, then yeah, most likely that's the new hit game and launch title. And like, it makes the most sense. The fans are happy because new MAINLINE Mario Kart in 11 years, regular customers are happy because NEW Mario Kart. The best selling Switch and your biggest franchise game yet, so a new one that takes a unique look, style and direction from just 10 seconds in that trailer is gonna hype anticipation and even more once additional info released

I mean the 24 racers is already enough for me to buy the game

Ever since it became clear we weren't getting Mario Kart 9 on the Switch it was obvious it would be one of the launch games for the Switch 2, so I think that's pretty much guaranteed.
New Pokemon in the launch window seems likely as Game Freak missed their yearly release, and we haven't had a new 3D Mario in a while so that could also happen.

Metroid Prime 4 is going to be a Switch 2 game. No sense in releasing it for the Switch now. The reason to port it is to sell more Switch 2s obviously.

Usually you get at least 1 SP focused game from Nintendo on launch, even if it's a crossover with the previous gen e.g. LoZ:TP.

Seems a bit soon for Zelda after TotK though so I would suspect Mario, Metroid or something different like Luigi's Mansion for the GC.

Now that I think about it, there will also probably be something to take advantage of the mouse functionality, not necessarily a game but something e.g. a simple art title.

There's already been an insider leak about Breath of the Wild being remastered for the new system, so I'm betting that one, FF7 Remake (at least part 1+DLC), Metroid Prime 4 (Likely out for both systems at once), Mario Kart 9 is a given, and Take 2 has something coming as well that we don't know about yet.

BotW is going to be Nintendo's Skyrim, isn't it? First the Wii U, then the Switch, now the Switch 2...
The only difference being that there's a sequel already out.

I'd buy it again as long as all DLC came with it, and the graphical difference was staggering.

Mousey joycons?? Mario Paint.

I am willing to bet the mario kart shown was just a promo vid.... Remember Zelda E3 prior to Windwaker??

More evidence points to it being that than being actual game footage. Think I'm wrong... Prove it! 🤣

Phil Spencer (Xbox) has recently said they are bringing more games to Switch 2, so we could see Forza Horizon, Gears of War, Flight Simulator, Diablo, Halo Master Chief, etc. Activision has also promised to bring their games including Call of Duty to other consoles (PS/ Switch 2).

I'd argue that Mario Maker might be a more important game to use a mouse than Mario Paint.

With it, the next installment might get rid of the grid system or even move to a 3D setting given the more powerful hardware. Even on the first Switch we had a 3D editor (Game Builder Garage).

What would you need a mouse Mario Maker for when you have a touch screen? Makes no sense to me.

You can apply this argument to the whole console - "what would you need a mouse for when you have a touch screen".
Not really, because I'm specifically talking about Mario Maker. I really can't see any new or more useful functionality that the mouse gives in that game compared to the touch.
