Hacking So, should you go online or not ?

I read a lot of diffrent stuff about going online evrywhere else, and now i was hoping you guyes could help me out.
In the "FAQ" it says you maybe should not.

But what do you guyes do ?
I just bought the 3ds xl and i was considering trying to take a backup game and go online.

If your 3ds is eur wait till a day after the 23rd. If your usa/jpn you can go online. The .cia doesn't matter as all cart dumps are v0 and nintendo banned anyone online early. (My X dump is v0 and no ban ever)

Are you using a flashcart or CFW? If you're using CFW then go for it. I've been playing online for years and I've never been banned. Although I've never played a game online before release or cheated in one so there's that too.

If you use common sense you should be fine, playing unreleased games before the release date in your region is just asking for trouble.

You can freely play sumo as long as you don't go online until the 23rd. The evidence is strong regarding only getting banned due to going online in game prior to the release date of your region.

And last guy says dont go online.

What about all those data injectors, can you get banned for those too ??

You can't get banned for using save injectors on you 3ds and if your not in Europe or didn't buy your 3ds there, then don't worry about what that last guy said

By the way, i got this card too as a "gift" for using this vendor.

It came preloaded with some stuff.

Should i use this or go with a custom firmware ??
Im allways kinda sketcy with these kind of 3rd party chips compared to CFW

R4 can only play nds games, you can't play 3ds games with it. Go for CFW. You won't get banned if you use your brain.

Don't go online before the games out in your region and you should be safe.
I'm playing physical sun for three days, Wonder Trade, Global Link, Global Trade, ETC. Everything works fine.

Is there any point for me upgrading from 4.2 to 9.0 before going on with CFW ?

9.0 will let u install menuhax, which is safer to install your first time, or u can go for a9lh which risks a brick but don't have to worry about someone being a dick and updating sysnand

Yeah so that cart plays original DS games, CFW can't do this. So it was a good pickup, i personally have a DSTT for playing DS games

No, you're wrong. Manipulating NAND & System (Downgrade using or not using CTRNANDTransfer, Add Firmload) always has a chance of bricking your console.
It's impossible to be 0%. Plailect's guide just the best guide that try to reduce brick chance as low as possible.

There are people who also bricked not from corrupt SD cards too, but very rarly.

Yeah well there's a risk to any sort of system modification... but the reward outweighs the risk

Yea i am following that guide.
And im stuck :'(

Followed the guide perfectly (Keep in mind i have softmodded wii, ps3, psp and so on, so i kinda have a feeling what i am doing )
But i keep getting a error at the website go.gateway-3ds.com
Even tried the /old version where it just stays at the loading screen forever.


Anyways, is there any safe place you could recommend to get firmware 9.0 ?
Might go with that first and see if that sorts out my cfw problem
