Safetyrey purchased a 32 inch flatscreen LCD at Target. When he got home he pulled it out of the box to find a giant crack on the upper right hand side.

He was pissed!! Told him to make sure he had the receipt and to take it back tomorrow. Hopefully he gets an exchange without a hassle.

Bad luck i say, he says "They are out to get me!"

My question is.. Will they give him a hard time and refuse to exchange it?

No they will replace it, once a transaction has made there is a kind of contract that is made to, a store is obliged to replace any damaged goods or at least refund them. Well that's the law in the UK anyway.

You fail! You should have kept the other tv around! It was decent.

That's a normal thing to do, you expected a working TV, and then they screw you over. But don't worry, as said, you will get a replacement or your money back. Especially since you're returning it so soon, unlike some people who wait 4 months and say they got it that way. [IMG]

I got mines from bestbuy and I wasn't happy with it when I tried with my Wii, plus it had a couple of dead pixels toward the top of the screen, so I took it back the day after claiming that I wasn't happy with it because of the dead pixels.
Then I went on and purchased a better one, and they just charged me the difference in price, no question asked, no restocking fee added.
My only inconvenient was to carry the TV from and to the store twice, but that is easily forgivable .

Once he signed the paper the delivery man gave him, that means that the package came to him un-damaged and safe. Anything he finds out after that, is his problem.

He is a fool for not checking it before he signed off on it because if he did, he would be able to get his money back easily. (unless there is a warranty, which most likely will be)

They'll replace it as long as he has the receipt.

But it's kinda funny getting a broken T.V.
Wondering how it must have looked.

They would have broken it while getting it there I bet.

i used to work at target when i was in high school and i seen how the people in the back handle things they just throw boxes off the trucks on to the conveyor belt not caring if they're breakable or not so its not surprising that the TV was found broken.

    A cold cold place
That happens at a lot of places. On a similar note, I knocked my LG monitor over last night while it was sitting on the concrete floor of my basement and it didn't break, surprising since the casing looks weak.

That's LG for you, everything looks kinda badly put together, but they're indestructible.
A friend of mine had a LG phone, looked crap, worked crap. He threw it against a wall with full force, I threw it on the ground with full force and he dropped it from the second floor of a building. And it still worked.

The TV was from UK sent here in the Philippines. It was just thrown by the men and boy, it was such a decent TV that's an HDTV.

But you knw they're gonna replace it... or else
