Putting together 2 dell output pcs wouldn't give you enough amps to run an 8800GT.

i used to have a sony viao fj but it died out on me in a year and a half () so now im planning on getting a new laptop/desktop on black friday (since there are specials on computers on that day) i can only spend 700-800$Â i need a computer that will last me a long long time, has atleast more then 100gb,has plenty of power (it needs to have the ability to run like World Of Warcraft (W.O.W.) with out my pc slowing down and also needs to be good for burning dl dvds, dvds ect. Can anyone recommend anything?![]()
1TB is standard? are you insane.
Just because you have a top of the line PC doesn't make other configurations crappy.
700-800 is enough for a good PC, enough for your needs.
Not many people need a $2000 PC![]()
wow my sony viao fj cost me 1500$ and it could run wow but it would slow down my pc. it only had like 80gb HD.Anyway the reason im looking for a laptop is cause in the area im in right doesn't make me feel secure...(if you know what i mean)but if i had a laptop i wouldn't worry as much.or at least a desk top that isn't so huge.Judging from the original post, I don't think I would recommend this kid to build his own computer.
Ace you do realize that hard drive now days are less so about the capacity and more about the transfer speed right? However, if your porn collection is that large, by all means get one. I'm waiting until a 250gb 20000rpm one comes out.I won't even consider buying a new PC until they finally release internal terrabyte harddrives. They've had them in the works for a good decade now, and yet they're nowhere to be seen. My plan is to put in two 1TB HDDs in a custom PC once they arrive. Oh how sweet it will be.![]()

Virtual packrat, and you don't back things up?Ace you do realize that hard drive now days are less so about the capacity and more about the transfer speed right? However, if your porn collection is that large, by all means get one. I'm waiting until a 250gb 20000rpm one comes out.
Yep, I'm well aware. But you see, I need as much HDD space as possible because I am... a virtual packrat. My 200GB HDD is overflowing (I have some 10GBs left of space, not even enough HDD percentage to initiate a defragment). And you may ask, why not back it up? Because I hate backing things up. It takes forever, and it slows down all other PC functions while the processes are running. And since I'm always on the PC, I don't have the patience for a slow system. Now you'll say/think "Why not do it while you sleep?" because this is a family PC, and in order to do that I would have to leave my account on, and there are parts of my life I'd rather my mom/family/friends didn't stumble on *cough*porn, etc*cough*.![]()

Hope you never have to deal with HDD failure.
You've mentioned that you don't backup at night due to the chance of family stumbling upon it. Its quite simply to lock your computer while its still on.
