So... im getting a new computer on black friday...

i used to have a sony viao fj but it died out on me in a year and a half (

) so now im planning on getting a new laptop/desktop on black friday (since there are specials on computers on that day) i can only spend 700-800$ i need a computer that will last me a long long time,has atleast more then 100gb,has plenty of power (it needs to have the ability to run like World Of Warcraft (W.O.W.) with out my pc slowing down and also needs to be good for burning dl dvds,dvds ect. Can anyone recommend anything?

Atleast 100GB and can run WoW? You could probably get a 30$ laptop from a pawnshop that could do that.

Theres a cheaper model for 800$, its starts with A, but its also a quadcore and large HD.

i'd stay away from laptops if your looking into a gaming computer... I bought this laptop with a x1400 video card. its ok, but I wish i could upgrade it... Buy a desktop for gaming! CHEAPO laptop for traveling!!

Make your own PC.
Not because it's cheaper.
Not for the geek cred.
But because you get total control over the parts. Quality over quantity. For 800 dollars you can get a VERY nice computer. The year before last, my parents bought themselves a 700 dollar PC. It had 256M ram, 60GB hard drive, a normal 2.[something] GHz CPU with integrated graphics. Really amazing how fast technology gets cheaper. Moore's law anyone?

$900 these days can get you a kick ass gaming PC that can run Crysis on high/medium (instead of medium/high, because almost all of the settings are on high)

Don't exaggerate. 900$ is enough to max out crysis if you buy a refurb from dell outlet and get a graphics card for it ( ie 8800GT from EVGA of course so you have a change to step up if something new comes out )

Yeah, I built a dual core (3800X2) pc with 1GB of high quality ram and an oc'd 7800GT (500W PSU AND 250GB) for around $1300 2 years ago.

It can FOR SURE run WoW or pretty much anything, except for really really new stuff (Crysis at medium @1024x768 works well).

And now you could build the same comp for ~ $500-$600.

Alienware is the bleeding edge. Unless you have $2000 and need an SLI 1920x1200 system, I would shop elsewhere

You would be much better off building your own computer vs buying an alienware desktop.

Putting together 2 dell output pcs wouldn't give you enough amps to run an 8800GT.
