    AFAIK the controller of the card is the one that actually does the wear levelling. I'm pretty sure it'll work just fine.
    From what I've heard, data isn't actually lost until you try writing past the actual capacity.

    Maybe you're right about that, it possibly depends. I know my sister had one of these fake cards once (a 4Gb card rebranded to 32Gb) and eventually lost all photos, even ones that were on there for ages - but that could also just be an annecdotal incident. Either way, I still wouldn't trust it even if it was partitioned for 16Gb only - If you feel comfortable, you can try it. :)
