Hacking So i just ordered an R4 for my ds...

What kind of things do i need to do? I want to be prepared for as soon as it comes i just plug it up to my comp, put files on the flashcard then plug and play. Do i need any software to update the microSD? (i got a combo SDcard + the r4) Also are there any patches i should be aware of? I have already obtained some roms....mainly zelda...so excited.

Download latest english firmware from r4ds.net and arm7 fix Zelda and trim roms with tokyotrim if you want to save space Thats what I did and once I opened my r4ds I got it working in 10minutes

I had to use the arm7 fix for Worms Open Warfare 2, but not Zelda. On an R4, that is.

I don't think so because I've been playing zelda for awhile now and it's still running smooth without any arm7 fixes, just trimmed it.

Nope, you're confused. No arm7 fix needed for this game. AFAIK, only Worms2 does.

Regardless, my son and I are playing LoZH on two different R4's, original and new flavor, Sandisk and Kingston 2GB microSD cards, both with firmware 1.11 on a DS lite and a DS phat without any problems. Can't get any more diverse than that!

You need to improve the sources you're listening to apparently.
