Well, I just bought it from eBay a month ago, and it finally arrived at my place last week, it had a broken bottom screen, so I got a replacement screen and a friend replaced it for me, now it works perfectly.

So I started using (i'm kinda new to this DSi stuff, only had a DS Lite) it and realized that it already had a few free apps installed, like Flipnote Hatena, etc. Then, I went to the shop and noticed that Photo Dojo was bought, but not downloaded yet, so I got it.

I'm interested in buying some DSiWare titles like Metal Torrent and Shantae, but that spawned a little noobish question: I've read somewhere that the DSi account is somewhat linked to the Club Nintendo account of the owner.. I haven't bought nothing from DSiWare yet, so I don't know if any credit card information from the previous owner is (or might be) stored in the DSi (then again, it's all new to me), in case it happens, I wouldn't dare to use it, of course (that would be wrong

(just kidding) , and maybe he never even used a credit card on the damn thing)

Would that be some kind of a problem? Should I just delete the DSi account on the console and create a new one (thus "losing" Photo Dojo, the only game that was bought, which costs only $2), or just use the same old account to buy the new stuff?

Don't know, just thinking. What are you guys opinion?

if you want a "clean" system, I would delete the account and create your own.

I'm not exactly sure how it works, but if you add points to the old account, there is the small possibility that the original owner could access those points from another dsi using his/her original account id.

it never hurts to play it safe.

AFAIK, you have to input your credit card info every time you make a purchase, so his info couldn't be stored in the DSi. Also, the points are locked to the hardware, so points added on one DSi or Wii can only be accessed from that DSi or Wii. There's a reason why someone can't just buy another DSi and download all his/her DSiware to it.

Well, I just tried to delete my DSiWare account, and a screen requested the serial number of my XL for confirmation purposes. Unfortunately, the sticker with the serial number was removed from the console and since I just received the loose console on the mail (no manual or warranty information whatsoever), I can't delete the account.

Looks like it's going to stay like this (and apparently I got Photo Dojo for free as a bonus

).

At the end of the day, I think it doesn't makes much of a difference, since the downloaded games are linked to the console's account and I'll be sticking to my DSi XL forever (with my DSTWO crossing the world on the way to my house as I write this), the hell with it, I'm getting that Shantae sooner or later.
