Speaking of Hotel Dusk (Text-Like Adventure games)
PW3: Trials and Tribulations came out recently.. Well a couple months ago.
The Phoenix Wright series is awesome, go start the series if you haven't already.

Geometry Wars and Contra 4 are excellent shooters.
Mario Party has great single-card multiplayer, although the single-player mode is a bit boring.
I enjoyed Crash as well, as it reminded me of the PS1 games.
I agree with Nero, you should certainly give the Phoenix Wright series a go if you haven't already.

Meh, it's more of a turn-based RPG.
The stuff you do in Orcs and Elves are not in Real-Time.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
