So far it feels that I'm near the end of the second world, and I like that the game is split into Islands instead of a massive overworld like how Mario Galaxy was split into galaxies.

I just wish that World 3 and 4 are going to have more content than W1/2, but it kinda feels like wishful thinking given that I only have one new move to learn and am like 3 ranks until the last one.

I gave up 6 hours in. I'm just not enjoying it much. Can't really say why, maybe the art style doesn't appeal to me or the game isn't challenging enough to keep me focused. When it first got leaked I thought it would be cool to finish it before its release date but now I don't see why bother.

I never was a huge fan of the series. The only entry I really liked was the rather unpopular Paper Jam.

im determined to finish it. 30 hours in & collected the last island & lighthouse. its just such a chore to play. the dialogue sucks, theres so much of it. combat is braindead easy and im at the point where im skipping/fleeing most encounters just to be underleveled for bossfights so they can actually be fun and challenging. These boss fights are a high point for the game, and possibly for the entire franchise, but overall its an extraordianrily boring and tedious game.

Why persist for so long if you're not enjoying it? Now that you mention it, the dialogue makes my mind wander.

A point I missed before is that the islands feel too similar. Walk up to the tower and pull the plug. There's not enough variety in how to reach there. Or maybe there is enough variety and I'm just biased negatively towards the game because I didn't enjoy it overall.

Knowing Mario & Luigi since Dream Team the issue is that they don't establish a very interesting premise upfront or at least they don't work properly with building up a plot, so you're just left with Nintendo Treehouse peddling words and meme writing on an empty narrative, and nobody is going to get caught up in that.
I loved Partners in Time because it had serious darkness and conflict, and it has that premise about Mushroom Kingdom undergoing an alien invasion by an "Alien Peach", basically. It was genuinely creepy and the Mario & Luigi lightheartedness just became extra funny in that context.
This game, it looks like the aesthetic is dope as fuck, but the concept of the story and the overall adventure wasn't thought out beyond the neatness of the initial visual.

I skipped the fuck out of this because I just remember how Dream Team left the same first impression but then 6 hours in you're still entering combat and the suitcase guy shows up like "Do you want me to explain how to COUNTER ATTACK?" for the 10th time.

I use pass*phrases * generally so, longer and not terribly hard to remember. But I write my work password down in my phone, because I run Amphetamine on my work macbook so it doesn't go to sleep (I work from home so no unattended access issues). I RARELY have to ever enter my password, because of that, so if I don't write it down I will 100% forget it. 10 times in 3 months would be on the higher end of how often I type it in
