Gaming So here's my issue

The game looks great, the trailers look great and I truly hope it will be terrifying. But, the one thing that bothers me is the graphics. I know graphics aren't everything (hell, I do own a DS don't I), but after looking at some of these videos and I see the type of creatures there are, I can't help but laugh at them. They are so old school looking and not scary or disgusting at all. They remind me of the creatures in Wolfenstein 3D. I am scared that the graphics will ruin the scary aspect of the game for me. I am thinking that the story will more than make up for the lack of graphics and I certainly hope i'm right.

Also, I hope the game will truly scare me as I usually play my DS before going to sleep at night. I usually play in bed with lights off so hopefully it will increase the scare factor.

Wolfenstein.

Ah, the good ole days. Yeah, I actually thought the same thing. But a game can still be scary without 21st-century pyrotechnics. I still find RE: DS creepy everytime I play it, and I've played it countless times now. I think the music and sound effects can play a huge part in setting the mood, and so can scene set-up. A monster lying in wait can always have a nice little startle factor if done right.

Eh, just play it, enjoy it, and then report back.

Seriously, you guys should try A Cup of Tea.

It's a Homebrew FPS, but it's amazing! You can't strafe however.

The damn phantoms come out of frickin nowhere and start shanking you to death. (You only get 5 hits till you die.)

Clive Barker's Undying
and Doom 3

Let's see if Jericho does the trick again

The only game that has every scared me was (I was 15 at the time I believe):
The Blair Witch Project.

Why? cause you moved so fking slow and the ghosts move so fking fast at the same time, they appear like ghosts would naturally.

When playing The Ward, USE EARPHONES!!!...this will intensify the sound and sure beats hearing it through the small speakers...
