    SO disappointed in this game.

I thought the mechanical powerups would be fun & new, and they were, but they come at a high cost. I love collecting & finding secrets as much as the next person, but having to collect multiple cubes per level JUST TO PROGRESS is annoying & takes the fun out of the game.

The way the cubes are hidden is what really makes the game annoying, instead of just being able to keep an eye out for them, you REALLY have to pay attention. Throughout the levels you're constantly worrying about missing one. The levels are designed in such a way as to punish the player. They trick you & attempt to make you miss cubes. If you do fall for one of these traps, suddenly you have to do the ENTIRE LEVEL OVER in most cases. Hows that fun?

Basically they turned what could've been a fun game into a game where you must be constantly focused & constantly worrying about what tricks lay ahead or that you may have missed a cube. Even if the cubes were localized at the start or the end of the level, at least then you could work on finding them & then just enjoy the rest of the level carefree. Sadly thats not the case, they are hidden evenly throughout the entire level so you have to focus on finding them & avoid being tricked the ENTIRE TIME.

EVEN THE REWARD FOR COLLECTING THEM ALL, THE BONUS LEVELS, ALSO HAVE CUBES TO WORRY ABOUT COLLECTING.

Whats even worse is the stick collecting. Although not required, there is no real point as their only use is to stick them on your mech. Big deal, certainly not worth sacrificing EVEN MORE OF YOUR FUN just to look for & obtain these stickers.

Really disappointed in this game & if given the chance to do it over again, I would've just avoided it.

Theres a way to do item collecting correctly, and then theres the way this game has done it, the way which sucks all fun out of the game & turns it into an obnoxious mess.

Are you talking about the Code Cubes?
I remember those being disappointingly easy to find.

Its not exactly about them being hard to find as much as being traps.
Oh you walked too far & used this warp pad too soon? OH WELL, YOU CAN NEVER GET THAT CUBE NOW, DO THE LEVEL OVER!
These tricks are just punishments & not fun in my opinion.

Have you played any of the older kirby games? Knightmare in Dreamland had tons of traps and traps that blocked you from getting everything in the level too. Its just a kirby trope, nothing new to kirby games.

I really enjoyed said traps in Squeak Squad. Especially when they had enemies stealing your valuable collectibles, it was ON > : )

I have played various other Kirby games, Im well aware.
The difference is this NEW kirby game seems to be especially unforgiving & to me personally makes it less enjoyable.
At the very least they should've made the bonus levels for collecting all cubes have NO CUBES so you could, at the very least, enjoy one level carefree .
I wanted them to ease up on this method, but they have only cracked down further on it.

I dunno man, this Kirby to me felt significantly easier in terms of collectables compared to any other Kirby.
I only had trouble finding like 2 in the final world.

Maybe the game just isn't for you? You need very few cubes to progress. I'm certain if you're having trouble you're simply rushing to the end of the screen without exploring.

If the stickers are bothering you, why are you collecting them? You said yourself you felt they are useless.

I loved the game personally, all the musical references to past games (especially all the love Kirby 64 got), all the hidden secrets, all the minigames.
I can see how someone who doesn't like the Kirby series might not enjoy it though.

Not to mention as a final point, most code cubes are hinted at very heavily, or at least they felt like they did for me. You would have to be actively trying to miss a number of them..

That's pretty much how I felt. I'll put the ones that stumped me in a spoiler just in case!

My only pet peeve with this game is that the traps/tricks seem to need extreme precision to pull off. Like, when did Kirby become a thing about skill? (Except the True Arena...)

And the fact that some of the areas are locked behind amiibo powers

I actually loved this kirby game, it's really fun, the hardest part was the last boss, dying like 15 times each time having to restart from a checkpoint in the boss was a pain but satisfying feeling afterwards nonetheless!!

Honestly, I think it's one of the better 3DS games out there and a really good Kirby game as well. Triple Deluxe was good but I find Planet Robobot even better.

Your description makes me remember another game franchise where fellow players usually answers you with a plain "git gud" whenever the game throwed his bullshit straight to your face.

I dunno man, this games feels JUST like Triple Deluxe .. Which is not bad at all! The code cubes aren't hard at all to find.

(I am having issues trying to find that code cube where you have to dissipate the smog or fog or whatever that hurts you.. How do I even..)

It's one or maybe a few of the abilities in the area. It's been too long for me to remember. (got the game when it leaked)

If you happen to recall please say so :/ I think I've tried every ability there but nothing works. Nothing dispels that mist blocking the door granting access to the last cube.

I loved Planet Robobot. I thought it was pretty funny how the levels often "taunt" you about missing the solution to a puzzle, or how I didn't realize I was in a puzzle until it was too late. It kept me focused in search of puzzles, and I found it delightfully engaging.
