Yes, no PAL release as of yet, not even a date announced.
You can always just download the NTSC-U version, remove the update and change it's region, then you should be able to play just fine!

true... but it has always seemed too mutch of an hassle to softmod it since everything has worked perfectly with my chip

I thought the same. My wii is chipped and had no probs at all but after seeing Wiiflow in action i thought, what the hell and gave it a go. Took me about half an hour to softmod and set HDD up, and it is fantastic. Wish I had done it sooner
