Please god, no! That's gotta be the stupidest feature I ever saw... and what's worse is people are all hyping a bunch of LEDs. I don't want any stupid LEDs going off while I'm playing my DS. Just when I thought the LED fad was finally over...

there's an article on yyjoy about it, here.

this bit is probably the most interesting, babelfished:
..um. yeah. In non-Engrish form, that seems to say something like other removable media-based cards require patching because FAT is too slow to run clean ROMs directly from the card otherwise.. but with Acekard, they're going for the other side of the problem, and instead replacing the file system. So you have to format the MicroSD card in AKFS, and use the Acekard Manager to transfer files to it.

That's a shame, in my opinion the biggest advantage of the DS Xtreme is the ability to simply drag and drop in Windows without patching or without special software. If this is true, it would probably cause me to go with the DS X, even though I would prefer larger storage.

Hope you at least use a program to trim roms or that'd be a waste of space right there

i'd be so shattered if it was crap,

is it to much to ask for them to create a expandable slot1 as compatible (homebrew spesh) as the DSx? with all it features? and cheaper lol

yeah, it probably is too much to ask. i've heard in several places that standard FAT SD card I/O isn't as fast as a real DS card, so to achieve full speed and compatibility running roms from SD they either have to be patched (as with the Slot-2 cards and DSLink) or the filesystem replaced entirely (like this one).

Let me translate some from the review

    "advantage:
    1. no flashme
    2. support clean rom. .
    3. the offical said that would perfectly support every new rom in the futrue without any core-updata.
    4. solt-1 size, use micro card
    ...

    shortage:
    1. still need pc client support, at least need a driver.
    2. once the tf card formated to AKFS, it can not use in any other place like cell phone, pda.
    3. can not run any homebrew now. ....
    4. everytime you run a new game you need to select the save type by yourself, even you open a homebrew.
    ..."

I am so disappointed with this card.

There is another problem about AKFS.

It seems like every rom in the card saved in an order. if you delete one of them, it will appear a "free space". you can not release them but add something equal or smaller than the "free space".

of course, you can format the whole card to solve the whole problem...

cleck here to see the img

What's the point of having the card run unpatched ROMs if you still have to load them through a special piece of software? You might as well just have the software patch the ROM and keep the FAT file system, which has adavtanges of its own as far as homebrew and general flexibility are concerned.

The DS-X sounds way cooler, but personally, I still can't see any real reson to get a DS slot flash device over a GBA slot one.

    they said:

AKFS is a new format to simulate the real card, there is no patch on the rom because the software is like a driver to let you input the rom. like you need to install a driver for a flash card using in a win98 system.
