so since im using sky3ds for the game do i put all the files on my sky3ds sd or the internal sd

The guide only refers to the internal SD card. The only thing that goes on your Sky3DS card would be a Cubic Ninja or OOT rom (for HBL access).

when you say start from step 4 I'm assuming you mean in the "homebrew" section which seems to only be for Browserhax so since I'm going to be using cubic ninja shouldn't I not bother with any of the steps on that page and just follow the ninjahax install instructions?

Do you have emunand if so skip part 3 if you have any type of home brew skip part 1 if you do not have a cfw and need to downgrade go from step 2 (correct me if I'm wrong)

i have no current cfw of any kind all I have installed so far is cubic ninja and just now got homebrew menu successfully loaded so yeah I figured part 2 was where I should start

If you have USB3 the backup/restoring will go fast. Took me a few hours because my sd adapter is not USB3.

Also I had a bunch of games installed to begin with so backing them all up took long too.

well I don't use usb I use a card reader which only goes about 5mb/s lol

my internal is a 32gb UHS and my sky3ds is a 200gb UHS the card reader just sucks and came with one of the cards and i havent been bothered to get a new one

use a usb3.0/card reader3.0 instead!mine goes at 17-18mb/s writing. with a samsung microsdxc 64 gb class 10 uhs-1

nah only have a few games from eshop on the internal maybe 4gb or so used lol the 200GB is where all the games are

yeah just working up the nerve to start the process the rednand is the part that worries me though as all it would take is an accidental switch of SysNAND and RedNAND to mess it up the downgrade part looks simple as hell though lol

For me was it like 5 hrs at first try on o3ds. Past week I got my N3ds XL and did the same. It took for me 3+ hrs

The option it has you do in luma will put emu in front of the sysver in settings so you will know. It also has you do other stuff so you know(like creating a folder on sysnand after they are unlinked)

that's y the tutorial names each backup differently, so u don't make a mistake. it's also y he suggests installing a theme to differentiate between the two. I used the blue, default theme. there's a bug where going into system menu on emunand kicks u back to the sysnand, but with a theme, u'll always know which nand ur on.

ah this is information i needed definitely but the one line that really bothers me is this "RedNAND will be bricked by the downgrade on New 3DS (not on Old 3DS), but you will no longer be able to get into it on either since no current CFW can boot a 2.1.0 RedNAND (a black screen when you try to load RedNAND is normal)" thats during the otp process but still about rednand
