Activision released a trailer on their youtube channel for a new game that looks surprisingly fun. The game, Peanuts: Snoopy's Grand Adventure seems to be a 2D platforming title, and the trailer doesn't make it look half bad despite it being a movie tie-in.

Take Snoopy on a grand adventure through environments, created by his imagination, as he tries to find Charlie Brown and all his friends. With Woodstock and the Beagle Scouts by his side Snoopy can unlock new abilities and performs special moves as he weaves his way through this magical journey.

The game even features Woodstock as a co-op playable character.

The game is set to release November 3rd in NA and November 6th in Europe on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, Wii U, and the 3DS. Let's all hope this doesn't go the way of 99% of movie tie-in games ever.

I actually think it looks quite fun :P Would've been kick-ass if it looked like the old animation style (a bit like paper mario). :P

Just wanted to point out that is kinda weird that isn't coming to PS3 or Vita but is coming to Wii U and 3DS.
The PS3 bit can be explained away by the extra work to port due to its unique hardware. They probably just don't think it's worth it. For the Vita version, I dunno. Probably just too lazy and they figure a 3DS version is enough.

To be fair, with these move tie ins, the market is essentially "everybody". At the same time, they want to limit production costs while appealing to everybody. Admittedly, the game doesn't much look like something I'd expect to find on my Vita, but at the same time, getting it out there wouldn't have hurt. Production costs versus expected profit must have decided that the Vita wasn't a worthwhile platform to port to. It's not surprising though. Japanese developers are the only ones that still really care about the Vita, and that's okay.

extra work is doing the game for Wii U and 3DS.
Wii U is way newer and the SDK isn't as polished as the PS3 SDK. sure enough developers are already used and know how to optimize PS3 games quickly and easy.
for 3DS they will need to retouch the assets and scale down the whole engine, or do a completely different game as they are used to do with underpowered hardware.
for Vita I'm guessing as they skipped PS3 they skipped Vita too because AFAIK the SDK is similar. that's why there are so many PS3 to Vita and Vita to PS3 ports, because is fairly easy to port between PS3 and Vita.

True but I guess it's just work vs reward ultimately

That's one of the issues I have with ecchi stuff recently, it focuses too much on the sexual aspect, not the comedy effect.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
The manga had it's fair share.

I mean, Lum was supposed to be a one time character

ecchi anime focusing too much at fanservice was always a thing
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Rumiko Takahashi got so much fan email about the character that she brought her back in the manga, it was going to be completely different originally (with the alien of the week type).

also i m a takahashi fan and i love ranma
