SNK reveals Neo Geo Mini console

IMG_7889.JPG

Back in April, SNK announced that they would be releasing a throwback console to celebrate the company's 40th anniversary. Now, we've gotten our first look at the newly revealed Neo Geo Mini. The little piece of hardware will consist of a 3.5 LCD screen, an HDMI-out slot, a headphone jack, and two controller ports, while weighing 600 grams. Also included are 40 different Neo Geo games, although specifics weren't mentioned outside of the pictured games, which are Metal Slug I and II, Fatal Fury 1 and 2, The King of Fighters '97 and '98, Samurai Showdown V Special, and Samurai Showdown II. Currently, there is also no release window or price. SNK is also releasing a compilation game package for the Switch.

So yes, the human eye is becoming weaker, because the human tempers are becoming older.
while that is true and a valid reason if you don't want to use glasses (I have a friend that is in the same position), many kids prefer bigger screens even when their eyes are sharper than ever.

If anyone wanna neo geo portable it also exist and its hackable - it is called neo geo x - gold version is with AES style arcade stick. Handheld have clicky joystick similar to the neo geo portable version - it is not cheap I have chance to buy this thing few years ago shame that i was out of cash then. Funny fact that this thing was hacked quickly sińce it have sd card glued to mobo. Neo Geo hire external company to build this. But this company uses one of homebrew emulators to play roms. When Neo Geo was informed about this, they wiped remaining consoles from shops. If you are fan you can get this on ebay, but its not cheap and prices is almost same as Switch.
Have fun!

I can see people wasting their money on that little piece of useless hardware.

Pip
Yeah, me too.
The same they "waste" it in anything. Anything is useless from the point of view of someone that can't find a use for it, what I wouldn't understand is why such a person would spend money on it.

Again it is retro hype tale. It isn't that unique since even dildo is capable of emulating this games ;) Little better from point of view is Atari VCS, since it could do sth beyond retro, but there is so small info what hardware specs it have...

Who cares about specs with this type of products. True you may want the emulation to be good, but the product itself is more for show/collection seriously, you want it to look good in a cupboard. There are many other cheaper, more general purpose options to play SNK games, if that is what you want. I mean, you got hamster aca ports nearly everywhere, and that if we only consider legal options.

I know that options is many. Atari VCS is claimed as not only old Atari emulatior it could run as they stated Linux distro - and why not they show what's specs it have? They revealed only one photo of some guy playing terraria on TV using that ugly generic controller. Also cashing more $ for wood like faceplate is full of shit.
