Haven't tried this yet, but does this version allow diagonal movement on the Classic Controller's analog stick? Trying to play Seiken Densetsu 3 without proper analog control was annoying.

Sounds good! I wonder what's next? Screen adjustment options might be nice, for us widescreen TV users.

Sorry for breaking up the party vibe, but I thought the last version of that emu was fine. It had autosave, save state saving, instant wiimote recognition and you could go back to the Homebrew Channel, what's more to wish for?

    original thread

for the record, this is a continuation of softdev & crunchy2's snes9x 1.50 port on the gamecube, now modified to work on the wii with last common wii features

snes9x 1.50 is better than snes9x 1.43 regarding emulation accuracy but requires also a lot more CPU usage so the framerate coudl eventually falls down in some CPU intensive games (at least, it what the case on gamecube but the Wii is running 1.5x faster)

Yeah I've noticed some frame drops when playing Donkey Kong Country 3.

I wouldn't advise installing it as a channel for several reasons:

    1. You can brick your Wii if the channel is munged (check the number of banner Brick threads in this and other forums)
    2. They use your Wii internal storage instead of SD
    3. THERE'S A FEW BUGS IN THE CURRENT VERSION - doesn't work properly with GC pad. X/Y buttons transposed on Classic Controller and PAL timings are broken if you run an NTSC game first.

Check the original Tehskeen thread for a couple of hacks people have made to correct a couple of issues and where the author will be posting the bugfixed version [IMG]

Is this better than lopst's 3.1 SNES9X emulator?

if all your games work fine now, there's really no reason to update.

Tried this for a change earlier.

I think it's kinda buggy ATM when I tried to set my GC controllers, I had to use Wiimote to do it.

Better wait for more stable release. But it's still a good emulator though.

The author of this version posted on tehskeen.com that he accidentally commented out a line too many and that's why the GC controllers aren't being set properly, so its not that its buggy overall, just a small issue that caused that.

    Ah.

I think it's gonna be better than 3.1 version I currently use if few things were fixed up. (GC controller problem, lack of top banner, etc.)

Not that it matters much, 95% of my time using it is spent in-game anyway. XD

Is it possible to import my old save files by just moving it to the new folder? Or do I need to re-name them first?

It's about the same. But this release comes with source code so the homebrew scene people like this one better.
Yeah and this one is based on the 1.50 kernel, which is supposed to have more accurate emulation. But normal users won't see the difference.

    I think that Snes9xGX 002 is better than lopst's 3.1 because it supports 4GIG mem cards, lopst's 3.1 doesnt.

well that seems like a nice feature then. but emulator-wise (stuff like save states, auto sram) the versions are pretty much the same

jesus, not yet another snes9x emulator. there must be like 7 different incompatible versions out there right now. Isn't there some sort of central place that all these people can work on the same codebase, instead of tons of sloppy hacks and duplicated work?

This one is the best. Period. I've tried the "7" other builds and some crashes and some don't work..this one is perfect (with a few bugs)
