It's not perfect emulation, at least to the standards that Nintendo has for emulation. Stuff like zsnes takes a lot of shortcuts to make the games run at full speed, compared to bsnes (very accurate) and snes9x (great in between)
I'm not talking about emulators, that line was more about the VC SNES if it's really only available for New 3DS and not O3DS.
Hey, more exclusive games for n3DS is a pretty good thing... to people who've actually bought one. I'm guessing you haven't.
Yeah, I haven't bought one and I will not, there's not really a reason for it.
Also, I can play SNES in a variety of other devices, not really a priority.
I just think it would be a lame excuse to make SOME exclusive content that the New3DS probably needs.
arent there some gba emulators that use dynarec? or is o3ds not compatible with it?
Ok, I give it to you, the Pentium 100mhz had to run the ZSNES DOS version for 100% speed and sound, haha.
But I've upgraded that Pentium to a 233mhz later and it ran the windows version (which was slower) without any problems. I'm 100% sure an old3DS is way more powerful than my first computer.

Someone with the amount of information on the original console like NINTENDO should be more than capable to make it work in a hardware like that of the Old 3DS.
Bottom line: If this VC is really released and exclusive for the New Nintendo 3DS, it'll be a lame excuse. At least in my point of view. You're free to disagree though.

bsnes and snes9x are accurate emulators. It isn't an excuse.
The old 3DS is a pretty underpowered device, and Nintendo has some high standards for how VC games run. Or else we'd see N64 on o3DS by now... that runs Mario 64 at 1/4 speed.
Having exclusive games is a pretty great thing for Nintendo, especially for a system with pretty much none.

Yep, I agree that Higan is an excellent emulator. Still made by a hobbyist without the official technical knowledge. Hell, the guy even had to pay for lots of money for hardware decapping through the years. Nintendo would DEFINITELY do better (and I mean, on the performance side of things, not the accuracy).
On the second quote, I still think that O3DS is more than enough for their standards. That's my opinion however.
Lastly, about the last quote, yes, in my POV that would be the only real reason to motivate such a release.
Is the old 3DS as powerful as a Wii, the first console made by them to meet their standards?
You not only have to account for the emulator being 100% accurate and perfect, but also running the VC menu behind it, savestates, and the Home menu. Maybe if it booted into high-memory mode like Smash, but that'd be rather annoying just for a VC title.
Edit: Also, Wii didn't have to run its Home Menu behind the scenes like 3DS.
